Muay Thai

The art of 8 limbs.

Muay Thai, often referred to as Thai boxing, is a martial art and combat sport that originated in Thailand. It is known as the “Art of Eight Limbs” because it utilizes the entire body as a weapon, incorporating punches, kicks, elbows, and knee strikes. This full-contact sport is characterized by its powerful techniques and strategic clinching, which allows fighters to control their opponents in close combat

Our Program

Muay Thai is considered an all levels class that covers both fundamental and advanced topics including Cardiovascular Training, Technique Drills, Bag Work, Pad Work, Sparring, Clinch Work, Strength & Conditioning, Stretching & Mobility. The instructor will make sure you are paired up appropriately according to skill level. Each 1 hour class is heart pumping and sweat producing. Each class begins with movement drills, followed by detailed instruction, and partner-based learning. Students will leave class knowing that they learned how to better defend themselves but also feeling positive about the great workout they had.

Our advanced curriculum primary features drills that involve students defending themselves more intelligently include: Advanced Technique Drills, High-Intensity Bag Work, Sparring with Experienced Fighters, and Flexibility Training. Concepts involving close quarter fighting such as clinching and dirty boxing will be shown. As always, the focus will still be on getting in a great workout while improving skill level and more importantly having a great time with your training partners.

Sparring or Clinch work will give the students an ability to test themselves in a controlled environment. Similar to “rolling” in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, sparring can be controlled, educational, and fun.
